Amelia is an artist whose work is inspired by the interplay of colour, light and shapes. Her work is a celebration of nature, focusing on flowers, gardens, shorelines, and, in particular, cats. Amelia's work explores the beauty of these subjects through a variety of media.

Amelia has a love for drawing and especially of cats, capturing fleeting moments and movements. Her cat drawings, often drawn in charcoal and pressed charcoal, capture the smallest gestures - a flick of a tail or raised ear - to suggest a mood or an emotion.  Amelia is fascinated by how subtle movements can express a deeper connection, and she strives to encapsulate that in her work.

"The different softnesses of the charcoal is great for creating fluid mark making and accents. I enjoy working quickly keeping the energy and expressive nature.  Ultimately I want to create a lively, in-the-moment, drawing with a sense of informality". These quick, instinctive stokes and mark making bring an emotional depth to Amelia's work.

Amelia’s cat drawings have been selected for the Royal Scottish Academy 199th Annual Exhibition, online, 2025. Amelia has also exhibited at The Pastel Society 125th Annual Exhibition 2025, 2024 and 2023 in the Mall Galleries, London and selected for the Royal Scottish Academy Annual Exhibition 2024 and 2023, Edinburgh. Visual Arts Scotland Centenary Exhibition at the Royal Scottish Academy 2024.
